Delete your BrightWise data

BrightWise has no account. You never sign up, so there is no account to delete. Your brightness history, per-app preferences and settings are stored only on your phone, and you can delete them yourself at any time.

Delete the data on your phone

1. Open Android Settings > Apps > BrightWise > Storage and tap Clear storage (or Clear data). This erases everything BrightWise has learned and resets it like a new install.
2. Or simply uninstall BrightWise. Android deletes all of its data from the phone.

If Android backup is on, a copy of your BrightWise settings may also be in your Google account's device backup (your brightness history is not included). You can manage or delete it in your phone's backup settings or at Google Drive > Backups.

Data we receive, and how to ask us to delete it

BrightWise sends us anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics through Google Firebase. They aren't linked to your name or email. If you want them deleted, or want to know what we hold:

1. Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my BrightWise data".
2. If you can, include your phone model and roughly when you used the app, so we can find the right records.

Email a deletion request

We handle requests within 30 days and confirm by email. Firebase deletes crash data automatically after about 90 days and usage statistics after up to 14 months. These are your rights under laws like the GDPR and CCPA, and we honor them for everyone.

What may be kept

• Support emails: your request and our reply, kept for up to 12 months as a record that we handled it.
• Purchase records: kept by Google Play under Google's policies.
